On Tangled
A lot of Disney fairy tales, most of which are lifted and adapted from the Brothers Grimm, feature frail female leads who in order to achieve their goal must rely on their man to save them. Over the past couple of decades, Disney has moved away from that formula and haven’t really done the fairy tale thing. Female characters like Ariel from The Little Mermaid and, of course, Mulan are both...

Nice video about all the bedlam ruckus. The music’s a little reduntant, though.

I apologize for the first 20 minutes because we were crap.

I don’t know what it is about today, maybe I just slept too much (napped pretty much half the day), but just about everything has annoyed me.
1. If you are in line at a movie theater, but don’t know what movie you are seeing, get out of line until you get it sorted out. Tonight, I went to see Tangled, and this family in front of me said they wanted “two adults, one child,”...

My Favorite Thanksgiving Story
Our family usually hosts Thanksgiving lunch for my dad’s family. This year, however, my great-aunt is bedridden. She has pancreatic cancer and barring a miracle this is her last Thanksgiving. Instead of everyone coming to our house, we decided to go to her house. My mom fixed dinner the night before and this morning and we brought it all over there and ate: my two great-aunts, my grandpa, my...

I guess Tumblr exists so I can rant about Everton
In an effort to console myself in the face of absolute certainty that Tim Cahill is going to leave us this winter, I have convinced myself that other players will step up. Why? Because they have to, and just maybe that’s exactly the kind of motivation they need.
Who?
Mikel Arteta for starters. I don’t know what his deal has been this season so far. Maybe he’s been carrying an...

Everton boss David Moyes wants compensation for... →
Oh, my.
Australia wants Tim Cahill for six weeks, given that they make the final of the cup. This is difficult for me, because as an Everton fan, I’d be thrilled if Cahill would stay here with us during the cup, but there’s no way that’s happening. Maybe if there wasn’t a Confederations Cup on the line, but there is.
If this was the Gold Cup, and not the meaningless one...

I know this season is far from over. I believe Everton can make a European spot. But I swear, this team, guys. I still think supporting them was the best European-football related decision I’ve ever made in my life, but do they ever frustrate me to pieces?

This Awesome Yale-Harvard Vuvuzela Scheme was Shot... →
Why? Because, apparently, Harvard doesn’t believe in having fun.
No, really, they said that it would “distract” from the game and spectators, but if some of the best athletes in the world and their fans could stand it for six weeks, I think your players and fans should be good for one game, eh?
Honestly, though, if I had been a victim of the greatest/worst college football...
New Law requiring ID to vote comes under legal... →
Yeah, this is a dumb lawsuit. Everyone who is registered to vote should have a Voter ID card, which would be valid in case the voter didn’t have a driver’s license or photo ID. I don’t know how it is in other states, but in Oklahoma they don’t have anything in place to make sure you are who you say you are when you vote, so anyone could say they are me or I could say I was...

Everton Player(s) of the Season So Far
Ok, so Everton have played 13 games this season, gathered 15 points, with a 3-6-6 record, which is a bit of a disappointment considering how well they have played. Still, we’re coming into it, with 13 of our points coming in our last 8 games (3-1-5), the only loss being a 2-1 affair to Arsenal. We had a couple of draws that should and could have been wins but that’s really just how things go...

Interviewer: What's next for your future?
Landon: Rest, I'm tired. A little vacation, and then we'll see.
Interviewer: Coming back with the Galaxy next season?
Landon: Oh yeah.
Don't leave out the "And then we'll see" comment just before.

Reporter: Back with the Galaxy next season?
Landon: Oh yeah.
I really hope he's just saying that as an emotional post-game reaction because he's in the middle of a pretty serious love triangle right now and if he meant that, my team just lost. And I think he loves us so we need to win him back again on loan and then we need to buy him and he needs to let LA down easily and just say "hey, I'm sorry, it's not you it's me...I love someone else" because he does, he loves us and we love him and I'm sorry LA but you can't stop fate and this was fate. You don't choose to be blue, it chooses you and it chose Landon.

Vote "yes" on SQ755 →
I would like to encourage voters to vote “yes” on State Question 755. I fear that many people will not understand State Question 755; therefore, I suggest that they research that question. If we vote “no,” I guarantee we will be sorry.
Oklahoma, good thing you voted yes on this question. I could already see Oklahoma being taken over by Sharia and international law!

Tulsa AD apologizes to Notre Dame fans →
“It was one of the most classless acts I have witnessed in college athletics and reflected extremely poorly on TU as a whole,” wrote Murphy. “… I hope that if they ever find themselves in a similar situation again, they will show greater dignity while representing their university.”
Oh my word. “One of the most classless act?” Really? Eye-gouging,...

Washington Freedom Officials Respond to Report... →
I haven’t heard anything about FCGP. While things don’t look good for the Freedom at this point, I am thinking this is a kind of Mayday from Hendricks in a (last-ditch?) attempt to keep the team around and in WPS. Which is not to say that things aren’t dire, but that nothing is a done deal.

Washington Freedom Officials Respond to Report... →
Haven’t heard anything from FCGP. Though it doesn’t look good at the moment for the Freedom, I am thinking this may be a kind of Mayday alert from Hendricks in an attempt to keep the club around and in WPS. Which is not to say things aren’t dire — quite the opposite, in fact — but that nothing is a done deal.
